Before Mobility
Depending on students’ year abroad programme and eligibility for a grant, there are a number of important documents that students must complete and actions they will need to take prior to the start of their mobility.
- Check your passport is valid and in date for the complete duration of the mobility
- If eligible, make a grant application for funding (please note that submitting a funding application does not guarantee a grant)
- Apply to your Student Loan Company (SLC) for a course abroad and travel grant application form (SLC eligibility criteria applies)
- International Experience Year only – Make a request via MyBangor request centre to change your degree title by 31st May (Successful applicants only)
- Study Abroad – Make your application to your host University (deadline dates are set by the host University)
- Work Abroad – Make your application via the MyBangor request centre

Students will be provided with several documents which they must complete before mobility. Please use the appropriate checklist which serves as a reminder of the submission dates for the documents.
