Why is the foreshore vested in the Crown? Well, actually only 50% is. How did it get there? Does this chime with modern expectations, sat the Right to Roam? The work traverses Roman Law, Saxon law, through the Norman Conquest and the current prima facie position. What do other jurisdictions do? How to balance private law rights with Joe Publics aspirations.
