58吃瓜 responding to the challenge鈥�
58吃瓜 is currently doing several different things to help the Health Service and the local community respond to the current Coronavirus crisis.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Iwan Davies, said: "This is a very difficult time, and as well as continuing to educate students online, we have been responding directly to support the front line as they deal with the crisis.鈥�
Amongst the steps being carried out by the University are:
Collecting suitable PPE for the NHS.鈥�
Using our鈥疕alls of鈥疪esidence鈥痑s鈥痑ccommodation鈥痜or NHS staff.鈥�
Research into the extent of Covid-19 transmission into waste treatment facilities.
Made available specialist laboratory equipment to analyse samples.鈥�
Providing up-skilling training in critical care for NHS staff.鈥�
Make available facilities for blood donation.鈥�
Promoting volunteering amongst staff and students.鈥�
Work with partners across North Wales to produce visors for health service staff using 3D printing methods.
Canolfan Brailsford, the University's leisure centre, will be converted into a temporary hospital to provide beds for patients with COVID-19 symptoms.
Professor Davies added: "We will continue to work with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and other partners over the coming weeks and months as we all rise to this significant challenge."
